Tomorrow, I have an intern coming to help me out for the day at my store! It's not an "official" internship or anything, but I think it will be a lot of fun. My good friend's sister is visiting this week from Paris, and she is going to be hanging out tomorrow at 12 Lions--to help me out, and also to learn a little bit about what I do. Tonight, I've been trying to think up some fun stuff for her to help me do.... I just hope that she has fun and doesn't get too bored! A slow day at that store can sometimes feel like years... I will post some pictures of us and our jewelry activities tomorrow!
I also forgot to write yesterday about the fabulous pink earrings I photographed myself wearing with my new haircut! They are the work of the fabulous NYC based jewelry designer Issy Salomon, who I met last year. I was his neighbor for several weekends at the designers' market that used to be on 14th St. He was one of my favorite designers at the market--his work is beautiful, and he's a really, really nice guy. One week, we decided to do a jewelry trade--he got one of my soldered pendant necklaces, and I got these fabulous earrings!! I love them, but I don't often get to wear them. They're bright pink, which means I have to be feeling confident enough to put them on. I also can't really wear them at my store--I do wear jewelry sometimes that is not my own, but it doesn't really make sense for me to wear other designers' statement pieces. At least not at my store--it's just too confusing, I think, for the customers. And for me! But they do look particularly fabulous with my new haircut I think :) So, that's the story of the earrings, and if you want to see more of his work you can find his website HERE. Have a good night everyone!!
